DegreePath is a planning companion — not an official student information system. All academic information you analyze here is voluntarily submitted and used exclusively to generate graduation planning recommendations.
All academic information analyzed by DegreePath is voluntarily submitted by you. We do not retrieve official student records from colleges or universities unless an authorized institutional integration is in place.
The MVP collects only what's needed to generate recommendations. Required fields are limited to university, catalog year, major, completed courses, and earned credits.
If a transcript is uploaded, DegreePath extracts only the academic information required for analysis. The original document may be deleted after processing unless you choose to retain it.
Recommendations are based on official published degree requirements, public university catalogs, and your self-reported academic history. Always confirm with your advisor before registering or applying to graduate.
You maintain full control over your submitted information. You may update, delete, or export your academic profile and remove any uploaded documents at any time.
DegreePath applies industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. Your academic data is used exclusively for planning recommendations. We do not sell student information.

Every feature in DegreePath is measured against this charter. If it doesn't help a student graduate faster or make better academic decisions, it doesn't belong in the MVP.
DegreePath is an AI-powered academic planning platform that helps college students understand their progress toward graduation by analyzing student-provided academic information while protecting their privacy and presenting clear, trustworthy, and actionable recommendations.
The MVP is not intended to replace university degree audits or academic advisors. Its purpose is to simplify academic planning and help students make informed decisions before meeting with their institution.
Every feature must answer one question: Does this help a student graduate faster or make better academic decisions? If the answer is "no," it does not belong in the MVP.
DegreePath collects only the information necessary to perform an academic analysis. The platform does not function as a student records repository — it creates a temporary Academic Profile based on student-provided information.
Every recommendation must include an understandable explanation. Students should never wonder why the system made a recommendation.
"Calculus II is recommended because it unlocks four required courses and is offered only in the Fall."The application should be understandable in less than one minute by a first-time user. No technical language. No catalog terminology unless requested.
Every recommendation must originate from official university catalogs, Florida degree requirements, published prerequisite rules, the Florida SCNS, and student-provided academic information. The AI never invents academic requirements.
The student signs into their university portal and downloads their Curriculum Progress, Degree Audit, or Academic Progress Report. Accepted: PDF, Screenshot (PNG/JPG), or degree audit export. No institutional login credentials are shared with DegreePath.
The student uploads the document to DegreePath. The document is held only for processing.
The AI identifies university, degree program, catalog year, completed courses, credit hours, GPA (optional), and degree requirements shown in the report.
AI ProcessingBefore analysis begins, DegreePath automatically detects and masks: student name, Student ID, email, phone, postal address, date of birth, QR codes, barcodes, and any other recognized personal identifiers.
Auto-MaskingThe student is shown a sanitized preview — masked personal info alongside visible academic data. The student must confirm personal information has been removed and academic information is accurate. Analysis begins only after confirmation.
Student ConfirmsDegreePath creates a temporary Academic Profile containing only: institution, catalog year, intended major, completed courses, earned credits, and optional GPA. The original uploaded document is deleted automatically unless the student explicitly chooses to retain it.
Minimal DataThe AI compares the Academic Profile against official program requirements and generates: degree completion %, remaining requirements, recommended next courses, prerequisite analysis, graduation timeline estimate, and academic alerts.
AI AnalysisStudent receives: Academic Health Score, Degree Progress %, Remaining Credits, Recommended Next Courses (prioritized by prerequisite dependencies), Graduation Estimate, Academic Alerts, and plain-language AI Explanations.
Results"You are approved to graduate."
